| Big Ol' 16, they just grow up so fast...
SHE doesn't have a name yet, since she's not on the road.
It's her engine I took apart last night.
A drop would be so nice!!!

| The price was even better!!! Same for my Coupertable... It ran just not to well, a max speed of 45mph flat in 3rd and 30mph up hill... Just found out it was about to blow a head gasket once I took it apart... That's why I'm rebuilding her and at the same time doing my manny swap. If you're willing to help with some labor it might go faster. | |

| Just ordered my cheap ass (FTL!) eBay Full Gasket Kit, $50.26. (You get what you pay for...) Now I just need to have all the parts cleaned/heat sink, to rid me of all the oil/greese build up... But I just need to get this one running as a DD for now, I have another engine I bought sitting off to the side that was "recently rebuilt" but thay say they think it spun a rod barring..... So I'm gunna take all the "Better/Newer/Rebuilt" parts off of it for this engine. (i.e. water pump, oil pump, head, and pistons) Now with this "Spare/Play Engine" once I get this hatch running I'm gunna take whats left of both engines and take it to a machine shop and get a head job have it and block dipped in a heat sink and cleaned and bored if needed, buy new parts, and upgraded parts. I'm gunna do a big big over haul on it and buit it stronger than I need it then go turbo on it. | |

| Well this morning befor I woke up, my father and Pearce went and got my flywheel off my spare engine, but this time they used a blow torch to heat up the bolts and they just came out with a wrench... What it was, was that the JACK ASS who rebuilt the engine used RED LockTight for a PERMANENT hold...
Anyways, all I know about this engine is that the guy (Queeque) I bought it from said when he bought the car it only had 200 mi. on it and when it craped out (thinks it spun a rod barring) on him it was at 900 mi. so he pulled the engine and I bought it from him w/ maunal trans for $200.
Since I have the engine out of my hatch taken apart and gasket kit ready, I'm just going to take parts from my spare that are newer/cleaner/rebuilt/better to replace all of my bad parts then get them hot tanked and slap it all back to gether.

| Ok, so my engine lift is at Pearce's house from when I helped him pull his engine, that's ok I got Keith since he came down to visit for X-mas, so I got him to help me tag team that bitch and we man handled it on to my engine stand and got it down stairs. Well I got started on taking it apart and boy did my eyes light up to see how clean the head was inside. Then that's when I noticed the upper timing chain cover had been snapped off/ground down some how... Ohwell, I'm off to bed, I'll just end up spending the rest of my X-mas day breaking it down... Good night. | |

| Well, after I drained the almost, if not less than 1 quart of oil, I finnished taking the engine apart, and shit is FUCKED!!! #1 Piston Yay! Burnt bearings!!! #2 Piston Yay!!! You can see the piston was hitting the head and the fucking bearing's melted!!!!! #3 Piston Yay! MOAR burnt bearings!!! #4 Piston Yay! more burnt bearings....... "Think it spun 'A' rod bearing" my ASS, try BEARING'S' notice the 'S' more than one, MELTED, SPUN, and BURNT, but now that I have the smell of BURN OIL stuck in my niose, I'm going to bed... P.S. I think it might be a S14 engine...

I only claim my hatch, the vert is my dad's. (I disowned the vert, just got to take all my "shit" out of it...) I have two engines for my hatch so I can rebuild one (with SOHC pistons and removed secondaries from the intake) to get it running and build the other one how I want it (TURBO).

I have two engines for my hatch so I can rebuild one (with SOHC pistons and removed secondaries from the intake) to get it running and build the other one how I want it (TURBO). With those SOHC pistons you are gonna get a seriously high comp. ratio. like 11.2 (can't remember exact #). You can figure about 6% increase in hp for every point your comp ratio goes up. So that would be like 10 hp....maybe, but you would also have to run 93 or better octane and retard the timing a little which would reduce hp even more. IMO it's just not worth it. You could just do a nice rebuild and just replace the pistons and weak ass rings and then boost it later on. Just my $0.02

| The only reason I want to go SOHC piston is because I don't have any money to buy new/better ones, and Pearce has a set laying around I can have for free. The pistons out of my hatch have deep scars in the sides. The pistons out of the extra engine I bought had the valves cutting into the heads so they're fugged up too. So unless someone has a free set of good DOHC pistons laying around or wants to give me some money and call it a birthday (2/ gift, I'm gunna keep looking in to using the SOHC pistons. | |

| About damn time I post something. Today I took my Block, Cradle, Crank, and Oil pan to a shop to get 'HOT TANKED' , so you know what that means? No? It means, I'm about to order all my parts to have my engine rebuilt. All thanks to auto upholstery and the people who need it done. | |
